“Borstal Boys” — Live

We think the best way to enjoy All Faces Weekend involves soaking yourself in rock’n’roll-enhancing beverages (preferably the sudsy variety because practically every recap of the band’s career describes their live shows as “beer-fueled/infused”) while you soak up the rock’n’roll.

If you’re on your way to lamenting What Made Milwaukee Famous, you’re ready for a dose of “Duuuuuuude”-inspiring 1970s breakdown jammery. You’re ready for this extended rendition of the punchy Ooh La La track “Borstal Boys” from the October 1973 show available over at Wolfgang’s Vault.

Plow through all 13:30 and you’ll be rewarded with a deliciously thick guitar workout laced with slinky interplay between Ron, Ronnie and Kenney and nods to “Memo From Turner,” “Comin’ Home” and “Amazing Grace.”
